Cesantes beach is a sandy area more than two kilometers long located in a wonderful natural environment, in the heart of Ensenada de San Simón. From Cesantes beach we can see San Simón Island with the Rande Bridge in the background. A spectacular landscape of the Ría de Vigo, in a privileged space in the Rías Baixas.

On the beach is the statue in homage to Jules Verne, which represents Captain Nemo and the divers from the novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The book tells how Captain Nemo, in San Simón Cove, carries a loot of gold ingots, coins and jewels, from Spanish ships sunk in the Battle of Rande.
